We are Indians -by Sanchaita Saha

We were thrown

We were shredded.

We were burnt

We were embedded.

Some witnessed the blood

Some witnessed the races.

Some witnessed the bodies,

Hanged with happy faces.

The days were dark.

The nights were scary.

But it was only the urge for freedom

That we always used to cherish.

It was the struggle that brought us the light.

It was the unity that never failed to stand upright.

It was the story of thousands of fighters.

It was all about the sacrifice that we are smiling today day and night.
